In 2014, the Educational and Scientific Institute of Sociocultural Development of Children and Youth was renamed the Educational and Scientific Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology. Scientists of the institute were involved in the cooperation of a group of scientific and pedagogical workers of the University and Institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The main topic of the research was aimed at solving the problems: “Scientific and methodological support for the identification of pupils and student youth”, “Psychological-pedagogical concept of comprehensive study in higher education of the Ukrainian language, literature, culture, history in the formation of national self-awareness of student youth”, ” Development processes of the modern Ukrainian language in the context of reforming higher education in Ukraine”.
Over the past five years, the staff of the Institute has published two collective monographs, in the preparation of which leading scientists took part: “Self-identification of youth”, “Ukrainian priority: nation, society, culture”. Two international scientific conferences were held in the online system on the problems of self-identification of youth and on the problems of learning the Ukrainian language in higher educational institutions of Ukraine. The Institute works in partnership with the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. V.I. Kononenko, as an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, performs the duties of an adviser to the President of the Academy, V.G. Kremen, and takes an active part in the activities of the Academy. Prof. V.I. Kononenko manages the Specialized Academic Council for the Defense of Candidate’s Dissertations at the Precarpathian National University named after Vasyl Stefanyk. He is the chairman of the editorial board of the journal “Journal of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. Scientific Edition. Series of Social and Human Sciences”, editor-in-chief of the journal of the Prykarpattia National University named after Vasyl Stefanyk “Ethnos and culture”.
