Today, the University hosted a presentation of the Jean Monnet Programme “Radiation Safety: European-Ukrainian Approach” (RISE-UP) project for students of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University.
Valentyna Yakubiv, First Vice-Rector of the Precarpathian National University, opened the event with an introduction. First of all, she stressed that this is a great achievement for us, as it is the first successful implementation of the Jean Monnet project at the Faculty of Physics and Technology and wished the team a successful project implementation.
“Two years ago, after the full-scale invasion, everyone realised that we had to be part of the European community,” said Volodymyr Kotsyubynskyy, Head of the Department of Materials Science and New Technologies and project leader.
The aim of the project is to develop a multidisciplinary training course that will form knowledge about the nature of radioactive radiation, risk factors, biological effects, radiation hygiene and radiation protection in the context of the need to ensure the implementation of Ukraine’s state policy in the field of radiation safety in accordance with the requirements of the European Union.
The main objectives of the project include:
The project objective is to develop a multidisciplinary training course that will form knowledge about the nature of radioactive radiation, risk factors, biological effects, radiation hygiene and radiation protection in the context of the need to ensure the implementation of Ukraine’s state policy in the field of radiation safety in accordance with the requirements of the European Union.
The main objectives of the project include:
- Promotion of EU policy in the physical, technical, medical, biological and legal spheres on the feasibility of using green nuclear energy in the current geopolitical environment;
- Improving the quality of professional training with an emphasis on the importance of developing systemic multidisciplinary competences in the field of radiation safety;
- Theoretical and practical training of students and stakeholders on radiation safety;
- Promotion of the concept of lifelong learning through free access to e-courses on radiation safety through social networks and the project website.
The project is divided into a number of packages, including lectures and workshops, which will facilitate in-depth learning and practical application of the knowledge gained.
