The head is Mykola Vasyliovych Kugutyak, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine.
The Institute of History, Ethnology and Archeology of the Carpathians was established in April 2008 as a structural unit of the Vasyl Stefanyk Pre-Carpathian National University. The institute, which has departments of history, ethnology and archeology, is designed to integrate specialists in the field of humanities for the fullest possible use of their scientific potential. Therefore, leading scientists of the Carpathian University, as well as other research and educational institutions, experts from the countries of the Carpathian region are involved in the implementation of scientific projects.
This institution submits proposals to the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council regarding the registration of monuments of traditional culture and archeology, participates in monument protection, cultural-educational and tourist-recreational activities of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council and the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration.
The popularity of the institute’s scientists is measured by interaction with foreign institutions in Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Chuchia, Moldova, Hungary, and Austria.
