On December 4, an online mentoring meeting was held with one of the Global HACK’23 winners, the LINUM team (Victoria Bristov, a student at the University of East Anglia, and Lidiia Yarema, Oksana Lapchynska, and Mykhailo Kurliak, students at Precarpathian National University), who are developing environmentally friendly clothing made from flax harvested from reclaimed soil. The development is focused on the study of Ukrainian soils after the impact of the full-scale invasion, and is a continuation of the joint project of PNU and UEA “Preparing the soil for reconstruction – soil decontamination in Ukraine, eco-entrepreneurship and environmental journalism”.
The meeting is organised to support Ukrainian student start-ups and build a strategy for the campaign’s development. The universities will facilitate the provision of consulting assistance to the participants, access to research equipment and financial support in the amount of £750 for further scientific discoveries. We are grateful to the mentor of the international team of students, Finbarr Carter, Head of the Student Enterprise Development Office at the University of East Anglia, for his constructive advice and mentoring.
