On 3 November 2023, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University hosted the international hackathon Global HACK`23!
The event was organised by the regional accelerator of the Precarpathian University together with the University of East Anglia (UK) and the University of Technology in Krakow (Poland).
More than 50 students and 10 mentors from Ukraine, England, Poland, Slovenia, Italy and Brazil worked together on a sustainable future! The participants developed ideas related to the Sustainable Development Goals, namely SDG 3: Good Health and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
The winning team received €700, while the second and third places were awarded €300 and €200 respectively. All students were given the opportunity to participate in the acceleration programme and receive a certificate for 2 ECTS credits as part of the Reginna 4.0 project!
The mentors of the international hackathon “Global HACK`23” were: Nick Allen (business coach, sustainability trainer, England), Lelia Seiles (entrepreneur, Fullstack developer (Java, JS, SQL, AWS), Brazil), Natalia Marchuk Hryniuk (associate professor, PNU, Ukraine), Natalia Pitei (international relations specialist, translator, PNU, Ukraine), Lilia Turovska (PhD, D., researcher, PNU, Ukraine), Antonina Tomashevska (associate professor, PNU, Ukraine), Roman Dzumedzey (head of the PNU library, Ukraine), Taisiia Symochko (expert of Horizon 2020 projects on Health and Food Security priorities, Ukraine).
The jury was represented by the following members: Iryna Shvets (member of the Board of the Civil Network OPORA), Yulia Lyakhovych (manager of the New Economy), Iryna Korolchuk (Kovtun) (operations manager of the NGO Teple Misto), Andrii Hrabchuk (head of the strategic department of Prykarpattyaoblenergo).
The main facilitator of the event was Finbarr Carter, Head of the Student Enterprise Centre at the University of East Anglia (UK).
